Sliding Gates take up much less space when opening, making them ideal for short drives or where parking space is limited. Because they run on tracks, they are also better suited to rough ground or sloping drives and can be much harder to force open (making them more secure). However, you will need to enough space to the side of your drive for the gate to have somewhere to slide.

This is where a swinging gate can be the better solution. As the name suggests, these gates swing open and closed from a pillar. You have swing gates that open from one end (a complete gate) or from the middle, effectively 2 gates that join in the middle and uses less space to swing.
